The Federal Government has cautioned former President Olusegun Obasanjo, asking him not to interrupt the 2023 general elections by inciting his "selfish and provocative" letter on the elections. Obasanjo has expressed his ill feelings over the conduct of the 2023 presidential election, and he accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of betraying Nigerians.

President Buhari, Wife Cast Their Votes In Daura

President Muhammadu Buhari alongside his first lady Aisha Buhari cast their votes at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A, Kofar Baru, Daura, Katsina State on 25th February, 2023. Mr. president, who arrived the polling unit about 9.57 a.m amid cheers from those present was accredited at about 10.07am, collected the ballot papers and went into the cubicle to vote for the candidate of his choice in the presidential and National Assembly elections.

President Buhari Not Planning Interim Government-Presidency

The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has no plan to install an interim government or extend his administration’s tenure beyond May 29, 2023, as required by the Constitution. Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s Spokesperson, made this known in a Twitter post from his official handle on Friday titled, ‘Stop the joke about interim government, elections will hold.’

2023: Mock Accreditation Of Voters To Hold Feb. 4-INEC Chairman

In preparation for the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it would conduct mock accreditation of registered voters on Saturday, February 4, 2023, which was made known on Friday by INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in a meeting with all the 37 Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) across the country, adding that the exercise is meant to test the efficacy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly scheduled to hold on February 25, 2023.
