Two fallen peacekeepers from Nigeria, Commodore Christopher Ademu Abu and Police Sgt. Mayehm Norbert, are among the 117 peacekeepers that would be honoured with the posthumous Dag Hammarskjöld medal. The Dag Hammarskjöld Medal is a posthumous award given by the UN to military personnel, police, or civilians who lose their lives while serving in a UN peacekeeping operation.

Federal Government Condemns Mutiny In Cote D’ivoire, Calls Mutineers To Order
The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has condemned in strong terms the recent mutiny against the democratically elected government in Cote D’Ivoire by some military officers. In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Acting President, Laolu Akande, Acting President expressed “unflinching support for the Government of President Alhassane Ouattara and welcomes ongoing efforts at resolving the crisis”
