PDP: Secondus Asked To Resign As Another Reps Member Defects To APC

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Taraba State under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rimamnde Shawulu has on Wednesday called on the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus to resign from his position following his failure to put a stop to the mass defections from the party to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Matawalle’s Defection Unpardonable, PDP Says

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the defection of Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle to the All Progressive Congress (APC) as an unpardonable act of betrayal. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbonditan made this known in a statement on Saturday, saying “It is indeed atrocious and most unpardonable that the APC is using the blood of innocent and helpless Nigerians for its political gains as well as to create a gory merchandise for its leaders and cronies.”

INEC To Begin Online Voter Registration On June 28

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to open its registration portal on June 28 for online voter registration, a National Commissioner, Mr. Festus Okoye said. Okoye said this while addressing the press in Dutse, Jigawa State, saying that “The INEC Voter Registration Portal will be deployed to enable people register online and thereafter go to their respective state or local government office of the commission to capture their biometrics and facials.”

NMA Urges NASS To Pass National Blood Service Commission Bill

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in its efforts to encourage voluntary blood donation in the country has called for the immediate passage of the National Blood Service Commission bill by National Assembly as well as the immediate assent by President Muhammadu Buhari. President of NMA, Prof. Innocent Ujah this in a message to mark this year’s World Blood Donor Day titled “Celebrating the Gift of Blood” expressed dismay over Nigeria’s inadequate annual blood requirement, saying the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends 2,000,000 units annually as against Nigeria’s 1,000,000 unit.

Seyi Makinde Dissolves Cabinet, Retains SSG, 2 Others

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has on Tuesday announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council, directing all cabinet members to hand over to the most senior directors in their respective ministries. The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Head of Service, and the Director-General of Due Process Office were spared.

North Korea Seeks Closer Ties With APC-led FG

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has on Tuesday expressed interest in enjoying closer ties with the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government, the Ambassador of the DPRK, Jon Chol said. Bauchi State Governor Appoints New Chief Of Staff

Following the dissolution of the entire cabinet of Bauchi State and the sack of political appointees on Wednesday, the governor, Bala Mohammed has appointed Aminu Gamawa as the new Chief of Staff, Government House, Bauchi. The appointment was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Mukhtar Gidado on Monday in Bauchi.
