The Nigerian Government has expresses concern to contain the current surge of a respiratory virus, Human Metapneumovirus, which has spiked across northern Chinese provinces in China.

Norovirus, a highly contagious stomach bug, is rapidly spreading across parts of the United States this winter, Government data has revealed. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 91 infections during the first week of December, a sharp increase from 69 outbreaks recorded in the last week of November. This figure represents more than double the highest weekly count recorded over the past three years.

The research led by Professor Kwang-Hyun Cho at KAIST represents a paradigm shift in cancer therapy. German authorities announced on Monday the detection of four cases of the new Clade 1b variant of the mpox virus, including two infections in school-aged children, in a community near Cologne. The first case was linked to a family member’s recent trip to Africa, with subsequent testing confirming the virus in three other family members, according to a press release from the local authorities. The affected family is now under quarantine, reported Xinhua.
