President Bola Tinubu on Monday officially launched the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja which was disclosed by Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB). This was disclosed on Tuesday in a statement issued by The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS National body condemns the directive by the governors of Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, and Kebbi states over their decision to close down schools during the Holy month of Ramadan, threatening protest. NANS National Public Relations officer, Sam Adeyemi, on Monday, stated that the closure is a violation of the right of every student while stressing that the policy would threaten academic progress and discriminate against non-Muslim students as well as set a bad example in the Nigerian education sector if uncontested.

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has declared that school dropouts will no longer benefit from the education loan, as plans are ongoing to update NELFUND’s system and the database.

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed the Vice-Chancellors of Yakubu Gowon University (formerly UniAbuja) and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), while also dissolving the governing council of Yakubu Gowon University as part of a major shake-up in federal universities. The announcement was made on Thursday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled “President Tinubu Announces Leadership Overhaul at Federal Universities.” At Yakubu Gowon University, Prof. Aisha Maikudi was removed as Vice-Chancellor with immediate effect. In her place, Tinubu appointed Prof. Patricia Manko as acting Vice-Chancellor for a six-month term, with the condition that she will not be eligible to apply for the substantive position. Additionally, Senator Lanre Tejuoso, formerly the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, has been reassigned to the same role at Yakubu Gowon University. He is succeeded in Makurdi by Senator Joy Emordi, the former Pro-Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku University of Education.
