The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE internal) results, which was conducted from Monday, June 16, to Friday, July 25, 2025.

Over 6,000 instances of technology-enabled malfeasance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have been found by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's Special Committee on Examination Infractions. The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND has released about ₦100 billion to some selected tertiary institutions across the country to expand training of medical scientists and address the shortage of healthcare professionals in the country. Chairman of the TETFUND Governing Board, Aminu Masari, disclosed this in Katsina on Saturday, saying it is part of President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to reverse the brain drain in the health sector that has been affecting the country in the form of ‘japa syndrome’.

Prof. Mathew Adamu has been appointed as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (formerly Yakubu Gowon University) by the federal government. Adamu succeeds Prof. Patricia Manko Lar, who was appointed in February 2025 for a six-month term in an interim capacity, according to a statement released by Mrs. Roseline Adakayi, the interim Registrar and Secretary to Council.
