Femi Otedola, a billionaire and philanthropist has announced the donation of N3.7 billion towards the construction of a new building for the Engineering Faculty at Augustine University, Ilara Epe, Lagos State.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024– Second Series will commence from Friday, October 25 to end on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has directed vice-chancellors, provosts and rectors of tertiary institutions nationwide to admit candidates aged 15, who will reach 16 years old by August 31 2025, which was disclosed in a statement issued by the Board.

A high-level panel on the teaching profession, set up by the United Nations revealed this in its report released in 2024. This development has also been worsened by teachers leaving Nigeria en mass for greener pastures abroad due to dwindling fortunes in the profession.
