The National Youth Service Corps has announced that changing of name will no longer be a requirement for married female corps members seeking redeployment to join their spouse. This is contained in a circular signed by the service’s Director Corps Mobilisation, Abubakar Mohammed, and issued to directors, Ag. Directors, State and Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Coordinators across the country.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETTFund) said that from January 2025 the agency will stop all foreign scholarship funding for Nigerian academics under the TETFund Scholarship for Academic Staff (TSAS) scheme. The academic Funding agency made this known yesterday in a statement by its spokesperson, Abdulmumin Oniyangi.

The Federal Government (FG) has disclosed the suspension of foreign training programs for scholars in order to redirect resources to enhance and promote domestic training initiatives and reduce dependence on international education.

President Bola Tinubu has urged for the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to ensure that out-of-school children in Nigeria are kept in classrooms. The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, stated that Tinubu made the remarks during a courtesy call with Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the IMF, on the sidelines of the G20 leader’s summit.

The Federal Government after careful consideration has reversed its earlier directives regarding posting restrictions in the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, across Ministries, Departments and Agencies. MDAs.
