The Federal Government has commenced the implementation of the Dual Mandate Policy across Federal Colleges of Education (FCOEs), after enacting the Federal Colleges of Education Act, 2023.

The Federal Government has directed the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, and the National Examinations Council, NECO to adopt full Computer-Based Test, CBT, for all their examinations latest by 2026. Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, gave the directive on behalf of federal government during the monitoring of the ongoing exams alongside JAMB officials, in Bwari this morning.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced a new date for the commencement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), now scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled Friday, April 25, 2025.

Director-general (DG) of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has accused some tertiary institutions of colluding with some banks to sabotage the student loan scheme of the federal government. Issa-Onilu said that the matter has been reported to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC to scrutinize the activities of such financial institutions and the schools involved in such racketeering.
