The driver of the car involved in the crash that left British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua injured and claimed the lives of two of his associates has appeared before a magistrate's court in Ogun State, Nigeria. Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, who was behind the wheel of the Lexus SUV conveying Joshua, was arraigned at the Sagamu Magistrates' Court on charges bordering on reckless and negligent driving, Prosecutors accused him of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention, and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's licence.

Following the collision that claimed the lives of two of his pals, boxer Anthony Joshua was discharged from a Nigerian hospital, according to authorities. On Monday, Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele perished when their car, together with Joshua, collided with a stationary truck on a major route close to Lagos. Joshua, a former heavyweight champion, was discharged on Wednesday despite suffering injuries, according to Lagos State Commissioner for Information Gbenga Omotoso. In a joint statement with Ogun State, which he posted on X, Mr Omotoso said Joshua was "deemed clinically fit to recuperate from home."

Former heavyweight contender Derek Chisora considers Anthony Joshua not prepared to return to action going by his knockout loss to IBF champion Daniel Dubois last September. When he’s ready he’ll come back and I think he’ll come back – not to fight me but to fight the ‘Gypsy King’,” Chisora said post-fight. Though, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has contradicted these claims, insisting the former two-time heavyweight champion is ready to start training camp with six potential opponents in consideration.

Anthony Joshua in his abilities have erased every lingering doubt after the British superstar delivered a thunderous knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, leading to his victory. It took Joshua less than two rounds to put away Ngannou and he did so in style with a pair of knockdowns before the emphatic final blow. Ngannou, 37, a former UFC heavyweight champion, was taking part in only his second professional boxing match having lost a split decision to Tyson Fury in October.
