Miss World 2024: Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszkova Crowned

Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic has clinched the coveted Miss World 2024 title during a glamorous event in India on Saturday, edging out Indian contestant Sini Shetty who made it to the top 8. Miss Lebanon, Yasmina Zaytoun, secured the first runner-up position in the competition. Karolina Bielawska, the reigning Miss World from Poland, crowned Pyszkova as her successor at the star-studded finale.  This victory marks the second time a representative from the Czech Republic has claimed the Miss World crown, following Tatana Kucharova’s win in 2006. Expressing her astonishment at winning the prestigious title, Pyszkova, who is in her twenties, confessed it was beyond her expectations.

In the aftermath of the fatal 2021 'Rust' shooting, Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin finds himself entangled in a legal web, navigating stringent restrictions and potential ramifications. In a latest development Mr Baldwin, 65, pleaded not guilty to a new charge of involuntary manslaughter over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Ms Hutchins was shot dead on the set of Rust, a forthcoming Western movie filmed near Santa Fe in New Mexico in October 2021. The actor had been practicing firing a pistol for a scene when the incident happened. Similar charges were dropped in April, just two weeks before he was due to go on trial, but New Mexico prosecutors say there is new forensic evidence that had emerged from forensic tests on the weapon used in the shooting, in which director Joel Souza was also wounded.

American rapper Sean Love Combs, better known as Puff Daddy or P. Diddy was sued Monday by a music producer Rodney Jones who accused Diddy of sexually assaulting him and forcing Jones to have sex with prostitutes. Jones in the lawsuit filed in a federal court in New York accused Diddy of making him solicit prostitutes and pressured him to have sex with them among other ills. The suit also described a time when the producer woke up in bed with two sex workers, suspecting he had been drugged. Jones claims Diddy, among other things, would grope Jones's genitals and touch his anus. Jones goes on to allege Diddy would parade around naked in front of him.

Liverpool Delisted From World Heritage List

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has added Liverpool’s Maritime Mercantile City to the list of removed heritage sites and third to be delisted since the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary, Oman, in 2007 and Elbe Valley in Dresden, Germany in 2009. The move follows concerns raised in 2012 about the proposed development of disused dockland near the city centre, which a UNESCO committee decided were “detrimental to the site’s authenticity and integrity”.
