Cameroon have won their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title on Sunday after beating Malawi 3-0 at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
Marie Ngah of the Indomitable Lioness headed the first goal into the net after 20 minutes in the first half, then Naomi Ndjoah Eto scored a second goal eight minutes later, and Ngah put the ball into the net again before the end of the first half.
Cameroon finished runners-up in the competition in 2004, 2014 and 2016, after losing to Nigeria each time.
For Malawi, reaching the finals was historical because this is the team's first time at the WAFCON and is the first Southern African team apart from South Africa to play at the WAFCON final.
