The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has launched the application portal for the Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), which is a new initiative designed to fund student-led ventures with up to ₦50 million in equity-free grants.

Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi has been named the substantive Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Abuja by the Governing Council of the institution. The appointment was announced following the Council’s 80th meeting, held on Friday, November 7, 2025.
