At least three countries have been eliminated from the ongoing CAF African Nations Championship, CHAN. The countries include Nigeria, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic (CAR). This is coming after yesterday’s fixtures in which Madagascar floored Central African Republic and Mauritania won against Burkina Faso.
Accordingly, Burkina Faso and CAR are two recent countries to be eliminated in the tournament after recording losses of 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.
The duo have join Nigeria, who were thrashed 4-0 by Sudan team earlier in the ongoing CAF
Burkina Faso, CAR and Nigeria all have only one match to play, however the result turns out, and they are already on their way home.
Both Burkina Faso and CAR are in Group B, and they have three points and zero points, respectively, from three games with just one match left.
Tanzania and Mauritania currently top Group B with 9 and 7 points, respectively, meaning mathematically both Burkina Faso and CAR are out of the competition with one game left to play.
Meanwhile, Nigeria sits at the bottom position in Group D with zero points after losing both matches to Sudan and Senegal, respectively, with one game left.
Sudan and Senegal currently top Group D with 4 points each, with just one game left to play.
