The Nigeria Football Federation has invited Brighton & Hove Albion striker Ini Umotong to the Super Falcons ahead of a friendly tournament in Turkey next week, Turkish Women’s Cup - Alanya 2018.

The former England U15 trainee was delighted to be considered by new Nigeria manager Thomas Dennerby for the tournament.

Speaking to the official website of the Seagulls, Umotong said: ''It was a feeling of shock, excitement and anxiousness. I was so excited, as I’ve been waiting for a call-up for a long time and it was really emotional.

Chelsea star, Victor Moses, has expressed his gratitude after winning Nigeria’s Player of the Year for Men at the maiden 2018 Aiteo/NFF Awards on Monday.

Kano Pillars defender Chinedu Udoji has sadly passed away. He lost his life following an auto accident in Kano on Sunday night.

Udoji was on his way back to the Kano Pillars club house after he visited his former Enyimba teammates at their hotel when the incident happened.

“Chinedu Udoji was involved in a car accident yesterday after visiting his former team mates at Enyimba. This tragic accident happened along Club Road in Kano.

“Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country,” Kano Pillars stated on the Twitter account on Monday morning.
