Armed robbers attacked and shot at close range a female journalist working with the African Independent Television (AIT), after they robbed her of a mobile phone and other personnel effects along Edepie area of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Miss Onisofie Owei, who is the AIT correspondent attached to the State Government House, was shot about 10.30pm on Saturday, while she was returning home from "Shiloh 2017" church service organised by the Living Faith church also known as Winners Chapel.
The victim was later rushed to Tobis private hospital by a good samaritan and wife of a State Correspondent of a National Newspaper without knowing that she is a colleague of her husband.
The good samaritan was driving home in the company of a lawyer friend when they came across a distressed lady in the pool of her blood between Edepie and Tenacious Road, calling for help so they offered to take her to the hospital.
Police Spokesperson of the State, Asimin Butwat, confirmed the development and disclosed that investigation into the incident has been initiated towards arresting the hoodlums.
