The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) through its tweeter handle has condemned the attack on a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Brass, Bayelsa state during the election period and has promised to carry out intensive investigation and the prosecution of those who perpetrated the act.
In a series of tweets, the NPF tweeted thus:
Ag. IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has decried the attack on a DCP in Brass, Bayelsa State, yesterday, Sunday, 24/02/2019 and has ordered for the immediate arrest, comprehensive investigation & diligent prosecution of persons involved, no matter their positions in society.#AskThePolice

In a related incident, Five (5) male suspects have been arrested in Umuahia, Abia State over an attack on a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) who was patriotically defending the sanctity of the electoral system at a Collation Centre in Umuahia.#AskThePolice
