Namadi Sambo, Nigeria’s former Vice President, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection was revealed on Wednesday via a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Kaduna APC chieftain, Imran Muhammad.

Sources indicate that Sambo’s decision may be linked to the lingering internal crisis within the PDP.

Sambo, who served as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan between 2010 and 2015, was formally welcomed into the APC by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.
