Four patients with Ebola virus have gone missing from a Medicin Sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) clinic in eastern Congo after armed assailants attacked it.

Ugandan authorities yesterday announced that thirteen people have been quarantined following their contact with a body suspected to have been infected with Ebola Virus.

In a bid to curb the rising surge of Lassa fever outbreak in the Country, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has perfected plans to partner the Federal Ministry of Health to bring the outbreak under control.

The Federal Government has declared an outbreak of Lassa Fever and activated Emergency Operation Centres (EOC). This was following the confirmation of at least 60 cases of the disease, NAN reports.

The Jimmy Carter Centre which began leading the Guinea Worm Eradication Programme in 1086 has disclosed that the number of human cases of Guinea worm disease reportedly dropped from 30 in 2017 to 28 last year.
