The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via its official Twitter page has announced that the country’s death toll still stands at 2,027. Although, 130 cases from 13 states were reported on Friday; NCDC last recorded a death on March 17. Aside from Sunday, Friday is the third day this week no case of COVID-19 related death was reported.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Nigeria, over 1.6 million tests have been conducted and over 161,000 people infected by the virus have recovered after treatment.
According to NCDC, the country has 130 new infection cases in Lagos (46), Ogun (19), Kwara (18), FCT (12), Kaduna (10), Ekiti (6), Abia (5), Edo(3), Sokoto(3), Osun (3), Niger (2), Oyo (2), and Akwa Ibom (1).
On a positive note, the number of daily infection in the country is getting low. The new figure is lower than Thursdays (135) but slightly higher than Sunday (120) results which have been the lowest since the turn of the year.
