Al Ahly of Egypt trashed Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa 3-0 on Saturday to win this year’s CAF Champions League at Casablanca, Morocco. The Egyptian side also made history as the first club to win the trophy three times consecutively. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Egyptian side lifted their 10th CAF Champions League at an empty Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca.
Happy Mashiane’s red card towards the close of the first half reduced Chiefs to 10 men, giving the Egyptian side the opportunity to dominate and win the game.
Mohamed Sherif gave Al Ahly the lead in the 53rd minute, while Mohamed ‘Afsha’ Magdy brilliant fired in Ahly’s second goal in the 64th minute.
Amr el Sulaya who buried a back-heel kick in the Chiefs net in the 74th minute sealed Ahly’s victory.
With Saturday’s win, Ahly will smile home with $2.5 million for winning the Champions League.
