The claim that Chelsea Striker, Michy Batshuayi may be the first English Premier League Gay Player to openly come out and declare his sexuality may be false after all. On Thursday a certain Twitter handle @TheChelseaDaily, suspected to be manned by club fan tweeted that the Belgian was "set to become the first openly gay footballer in the premier league after coming out to teammates #CFC"
The tweet was exploited by several news outlets.
Meanwhile, the player has debunked the claim that he is gay and planning to make his sexual orientation public. In a tweet posted hours later, Michy said;
"Bro even your mother knows that's false."
The operator of the handle has since apologized to Michy. He explained that his sources failed him this time.
"Sorry Michy bro, my sources let me down. I’m usually reliable #CFC"
