The Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League draw took place today in Monaco. The groups were made up of one team from each of the following four pots, with teams from the same association unable to be drawn together. The pots were made up of the following;
Pot 1: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk, Monaco, Spartak Moscow.
Pot 2: Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, PSG, Dortmund, Sevilla, Man City, Porto, Man United.
Pot 3: Napoli, Tottenham, Basel, Olympiakos, Anderlecht, Liverpool, Roma, Besiktas.
Pot 4: Celtic, CSKA Moscow, Sporting, APOEL, Feyenoord, Maribor, FK Qarabag, RB Leipzig.
After the draws, the following groups emerged.
Group A: Benfica, Manchester United, Basel
Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain, Anderlecht
Group C: Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, Roma, Qarabag
Group D: Juventus, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Spoting CP
Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, Maribor
Group F: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli
Group G: Monaco, Porto, Besiktas, RB Leipzig
Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Apoel
The teams are expected to start the group stage matches in three weeks, with two clubs qualifying from each group.
