The Premier League Champions confirmed Rodri will miss most of the premier league matches due the ligament injury on his right knee.
This development was revealed in a statement issued by the club management on Tuesday.
Rodri had to be substituted during the first half of their 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
The statement read in part, “The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester.
“Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis. Everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery.”
