Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard has sent a clear message intended to reassure manager, Antonio Conte and the fans of his commitment to the team. The Belgium international who spoke while on international assignment said he was ready to play in any area for the team provided that he is on the field. The message is coming as shocker to some as Hazard had previously criticized Conte over his tactics after the defeat to Manchester City.
Conte had severally deployed Hazard as false striker in crucial matches, with the player lamenting that the position was frustrating and making it difficult for him to operate freely. This position has however changed as the Belgian is now favourably disposed to playing any role for the Blues. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said.
“I just want to be on the pitch. Number 9, 10, I can play left-back if the manager wants, no problem. I just want to be on the pitch and try to give everything like I do every time. I’m happy with Chelsea,” he added. “I am just thinking about the end of the season and the World Cup. I have got two years left on my contract so I am just happy.
On Belgium's preparation for the World Cup, the Captain of the Belgian side said;
“Four years ago was the first World Cup for almost all of the players in the national team,” he said. "Now we have the experience four years later so we know what to do to be ready. We have one target which is to go to the final and then we will see what happens.”
