Lobi Stars have just employed the services of Finnish born tactician, Mika Lonnstrom, as their new head coach. The Pride of Makurdi made the announcement today shortly after Lonnstrom arrived for a brief ceremony at the indoor hall of the McCarthy Stadium. It was learned that Lonnstrom will work alongside technical adviser, Daniel Amokachi.
Lobi Stars chairman, Philip Nongu, has expressed optimism on the appointment of the new tactician.
Nongu said during the ceremony “We’re delighted to have Coach Lönnström on board. His expertise and passion will undoubtedly elevate our team’s performance”.
“We are here at this important event to introduce to the Benue community, the players, as well as sports journalists, the newly appointed head coach, Mr Lönnström who will be working together with the other technical crew members with the needed intent of moving the club out of current position as well as making it more competitive.”
Meanwhile, Lönnström was in charge of Lobi Stars training session in preparation for their next game against Abia Warriors.
