Asisat Oshoala scored 2 goals as Barcelona women defeated Sevilla 6-2 in an eight (8) encounter during a Liga Iberdrola clash. This was her first game in the league after recovering from a hamstring injury.
This game was brought ahead from the weekend due to the fact that Barça is set to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of Champions League semi-final, although leading 1 - 0 from the first leg. Victory against Bayern Women will guarantee them a place in the final for the first time.
However, the team waste no time by taking a rapid 3-0 lead through Martens on the 11th minute and Oshoala twice (30th and 34th minutes). Karpova (36’) and Ana Franco (39’) scored for Sevilla to reduce the lead and bring scores to 3-2 But Stefanie scored in the 42nd minute and Aitana Bonmati (63’) and Andujar (82’) also scored to give Barca a 6-2 victory.
This is Oshoala's 7th goal in 6 matches and the win will boost for their confidence ahead of Bayern's game, and also puts added pressure on Liga leaders Atlético, who have a tricky game with Valencia at the weekend.
