Contrary to reports that Pedro's injury was not serious, Chelsea Football Club has announced that the attacker suffered multiple fractures on his face and has been taken back to London for proper medical attention. The Club made the disclosure on Monday via its Twitter handle.
According to the tweet, Chelsea Coach, Antonio Conte was quoted as saying "Pedro's injury was more serious than he thought, he has multiple fractures but with a mask he should train in 10 days"
Pedro was stretched out of a preseason encounter against Arsenal after Ospina flew into him in an attempt to clear a ball with his fists. The player was initially taken to a Beijing Hospital before he was flown to London to see club doctors.
Meanwhile, Conte has disclosed that there was no ill-feeling towards the shot stopper. He said the incident could just be mere accident
“Absolutely no, because I was a player, I know these accidental (challenges) could happen. Ospina tried to take the ball. That is all" he said
