Super Eagles Man of the Match in their 1-0 win over Zambia Shehu Abdullahi has been selected in the official CAF BEST XI players of match day 5 of the World Cup Qualifiers in Africa.
Abdullahi provided the cross which Alex Iwobi drove home to seal a memorable win and a spot for Nigeria at next year World Cup, and his overall performance has lead to a nomination in the CAF XI.
He was selected as the best right back of matchday 5 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia African Zone Qualification round 3, a testament to why he was voted man of the match by the press after the game.
The Anothorsis Famagusta defender wasn’t the only Nigerian nominated as Chelsea ace Victor Moses kept his spot in the CAF BEST XI for the third consecutive match day despite no finding the target last weekend.
Moses has now made the team for the third, fourth and fifth match day of the qualifying series , meaning he has been omitted just twice from the CAF BEST XI since the start of the qualifiers one year ago.
