Saudi Pro League giants, Al-Nassr has disclosed the future of their main Portuguese International, Cristiano Ronaldo at the club. The club’s sporting director, Fernando Hierro, made the positive remarks about Ronaldo this afternoon while fielding question on whether he is leaving or staying at the Saudi club.
Football fans have been expressing mixed reaction over the future of the legendary forward about whether Ronaldo stays or leaves the club in this transfer window.
There were speculations that have linked the 40-year-old to Al Nassr’s rivals Al Hilal as he looks to feature in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
However, Hierro debunked the rumor saying the club is doing everything possible to keep the Portuguese, who he described as a national asset.
Ronaldo will become a free agent this summer having served his two-year contract at the club.
During this period, Ronaldo has scored 93 goals in just 105 games.
But the Portugal captain has expressed disappointment over the club’s failure to win trophies despite his stellar form in front of goal.
The club finished third position in the league standings this season.
Hierro said that Al-Nassr is in contact with Ronaldo over the same issue.
Hierro speaking (via Al Nassr Zone on X) said, “Ronaldo’s presence from the beginning is a national project. He is a huge phenomenon in the history of football and has helped the league grow.
“We are in contact to renew his contract and hope he continues with us” he concluded.
