Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday defeated newly promoted Newscastle United 2-0 at the St. James Park. Dele Ali scored the first goal on the hour after Jonjo Shelvey was sent off in the 48th minutes for stomping on the England Midfielder. The first half of the encounter had ended barren.
Ali clinically swept home Eriksen's inch-perfect cross and before helping the Dane carve open the home team's defence with a quick one-two which left Davies with a simple finish from the box.
