Manchester City has today confirmed that their defender, Sergio Gomez has left the club to join Spanish LaLiga side Real Sociedad on a permanent transfer. The Premier League champions break the news through a statement on their website.
Gomez spent two seasons at Pep Guardiola’s side after signing in 2022 from Anderlecht.
The 23-year-old’s during his stay at the Etihad make 38 appearances as he helped City win six trophies.
His squad were the ones that won the Treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2022–23.
Gomez also won the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League across 2023–24.
Manchester City’s statement partly read, “Everyone at Manchester City sends their best wishes to Sergio ahead of his move to Real Sociedad”.
