Sweden striker Viktor Gyökeres has disclosed why he opted for Arsenal club despite offers from other top European clubs that others think he could have chosen. However, the player, Gyokeres decided to settle his contract as an Arsenal new player on Saturday. Gyökeres sealed the deal after completing his medicals at the Emirates Stadium.
The Sweden international will wear the number 14 shirt at the north London side and is joining the club from Sporting CP.
While speaking to the club’s website on Thursday, he said, “There were more clubs involved but I wanted to come here at Arsenal… it’s the best club for me.
“It wasn’t an easy deal. Some people spoke to the media all the time… they thought they were protecting the interest of the club.”
Many people believe that the Mikel Arteta side’s lack of a natural striker is responsible for the Premier League title last season when they finished second behind Liverpool.
