A Federal Court in Abuja on Thursday sentenced the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment after being convicted on all seven counts of terrorism filed against him.
During the course of delivering judgment, the presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, described Kanu as a terrorist whose actions resulted in loss of lives and destabilization in the South-East region of Nigeria.
Kanu was convicted in regard to all seven counts leveled against him.
The judgment was delivered in the absence of Kanu because he disrupted the court proceedings, and the judge ordered his removal from the courtroom due to his "unruly behavior."
