Finnish authorities have reportedly frozen assets belonging to the controversial self-proclaimed pro-Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, and four other persons over alleged terrorism.

This development was made known by Yle, a Finnish media platform, which also reported that Ekpa is currently being held at the Kylmäkoski Prison, a high-security facility, in Vanhamaantie, Akaa Finland.

The facility was featured in a 2023 Netflix documentary series titled, Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons.

Recall that Ekpa was arrested on November 21 alongside four others and is accused of inciting violence in the South-East region of Nigeria and terrorism financing.

The police in Finland stated that Ekpa, who describes himself as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile, allegedly promoted violence targeted at civilians and authorities in the South East region of Nigeria through social media.

Ekpa's trial is slated to commence in 2025.

More details later.
