The Benue State Police Command has disclosed that 6 law students of the Yola campus who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while on their way from Anambra State to Adamawa State have regained their freedom.


This development was made known on Friday in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Udeme Edet, adding that the students were now safely reunited with their families on Friday morning.

The statement reads, “Please be informed that the police have successfully rescued six law students of the Yola campus, who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State, have been safely released and united with their families this morning, August 1, 2025.

“Police authorities confirmed the rescue, assuring the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.”
