Operatives of the Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reportedly arrested two military personnel and a religious cleric over an alleged plot to kidnap the wives of two well-known bishops in Jos.
According to reports, the police stated that a 42-year-old cleric, Rev. Hassan Yunisim Mijah of Tudun Wada, Jos North, conspired with the 2 military personnel, Sgt Ezra Sunday, with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), and OS Usman Khalid, with the Nigerian Navy, to kidnap the spouses of Bishop Ephraim Gongden and retired Bishop Benjamin Kwashi, who both reside in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area.
The Plateau State Police Command noted that the two military personnel were attached to Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace in Jos, and had been formally notified of the development.
