The Federal Ministry of Education has raised the school fees of new entrants into Federal Government Colleges, known as Federal Unity Colleges from #45,000 to ₦100,000. Federal Government through the Office of the Director, Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education, gave the directive in a circular to all Principals of Federal Unity Colleges with the title, “Approved fees/ charges for Federal Unity Colleges (1st Term) for new students”.
“The latest fees/charge increment will affect virtually all aspects and activities of the school, including tuition and boarding fees, uniform, text books, deposit, exercise books, prospectus, caution fee, ID card, stationery, clubs and societies, sports, extra lesson, insurance, et al”.
Recall that the House of Representatives through a motion moved by Saidu Abdullahi (APC, Niger) and Kama Nkemkanma (LP, Ebonyi) has urged the FG to reverse plans to increase fees in all FG owned schools so as to lessen difficulty on students.
