The Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna has dismissed reports circulating in the media that claimed 150 to 200 individuals were kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, these reports are entirely fabricated and have no basis in fact. DSP Mansir Hassan noted that the Command had been alerted to a misleading report spreading on social media, alleging mass abductions along the Abuja-Kaduna route. He emphasized that no such incidents have been recorded on that highway in the past two years. The area, he assured, remains under constant surveillance and is regularly patrolled by security forces including the Police, Military, and DSS to ensure the safety of all travelers.
The Command is addressing this matter seriously and will summon individuals or online media outlets found responsible for originating or sharing the false information for questioning. An investigation will be conducted, and those found culpable may face prosecution as provided by law. The State government, working closely with security agencies, continues to ensure the safety of all people and property.
