The Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II has been appointed as one of the new advocates for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). United Nations (UN) Secretary General, António Guterres made the revelation in a statement issued on Thursday in New York.

Following speculations that the President may extend his visit for medical reasons as cited by the main opposition party, People Democratic Party (PDP), President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday 6th May 2019 arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after a visit to the United Kingdom. 

Muslims around the world today commenced fasting (Ramadan). The Emir of Kano, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II had recently approved the appointment and instalment of Zhang, as a chief and leader of the growing Chinese community in the northern Nigerian state.

President Muhammadu Buhari will today, 23rd April 2019 receive the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Presidential aide, Garba Shehu confirmed the visit of the oil-rich country’s emir. The emir is coming three years after President Buhari visited Doha, the Qatari capital in February 2016, where he attended a meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

President Muhammadu Buhari has decried the worsening cases of killings, kidnappings, and violence being witnessed in some states of the country. He described them as “tragic incidents.” The disclosure was made in his 2019 Easter message to the Nation and made available to the press.
