A recent report by the World Health Organisation, WHO, has revealed that Ekiti and Zamfara has the highest rate of HIV prevalence among States in Nigeria in 2017. The ranking in the latest list illustrate a change in positions as the virus continue to spread across the country.
Director General of the World Health Organization , Dr. Margeret Chan, stated that the fight against the virus has taken new strides and applauded the Federal Government for its measures in combating its spread.
HIV prevalence by States is among the most important numerics everyone should have in their heads as the fight against HIV/AIDS progresses. The top five States are:
1. EKITI STATE
2. ZAMFARA STATE
3. BAUCHI STATE
4. NIGER STATE
5. KEBBI STATE
