Yusuf Dingyadi, a Senior Special Assistant on Media to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has stated that the Federal Government's use of non-kinetic measures and deployment of contemporary security equipment are helping to combat insecurity, especially in the North-West. This was said in a statement released on Monday by journalist, politician, and public affairs analyst Dingyadi. He acknowledged that insecurity is still one of Nigeria's biggest problems, but he was hopeful that continued efforts were starting to pay off.
He said that the states of Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, and Sokoto—which he referred to as the epicenter of banditry in the nation—have seen increased efforts by the Federal Government to combat banditry and other violent crimes.
"Recurring security challenges have decreased throughout Nigeria, especially in some vulnerable areas of the North-West, thanks to the current deployment of modern security equipment and the use of non-kinetic measures," Dingyadi stated.
He continued by saying that despite ongoing security concerns, the Federal Government, along with security services, was dedicated to safeguarding people and property.
"The Federal Government and several security agencies are working together to protect law-abiding people's lives and property. Authorities at all levels have not given up in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other crimes across the country, despite the ongoing threat," he said.
The APC leader expressed optimism that the nation's security situation would continue to improve while denouncing the actions of criminal groups. He urged Nigerians to be patient and to keep praying for the success of security operations, saying, "There is light at the end of the tunnel."
Dingyadi also warned against politicizing security matters and attributed the escalation of instability to the actions of informants.
"The politicization of security challenges and the apparent lack of effective synergy among security agencies are issues that must be addressed, while the activities of informants are aggravating the security situation," he stated.
The Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle, was praised by the APC media assistant for his part in the continuous efforts to combat insecurity around the nation.
Recalling Matawalle's time as Zamfara State's governor, Dingyadi said the minister had continuously shown a dedication to safeguarding people and property. "Even now, Matawalle is steadfastly dedicated to collaborating with his peers in the defense industry and other pertinent areas to stop the spread of instability.
They are working nonstop to improve the security and protection of Nigerians' lives," he stated. He emphasized that political goodwill would strengthen the morale of troops fighting insurgency, banditry, and other criminal activities, and he asked opposition parties and Nigerians to support security personnel.
Additionally, Dingyadi urged state governors to show a stronger dedication to combating insecurity while guaranteeing the delivery of essential social services via fairness and good administration.
Regarding the ruling party, he commended Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda's APC National Working Committee for fostering unity, discipline, and reconciliation in spite of difficulties brought on by recent congresses.
