Abdullahi Ganduje National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday terminated allegations by some partisans that the outcome of last Saturday’s Governorship Election in Ondo state which returned the party’s candidate and incumbent, Gov. Lucky Ayedatiwa was influenced by President Bola Tinubu.

Ganduje when he received the governor at the APC National Secretariat spoke that the entire people of the state voted in masse for the governor across the 18 Local Councils.

The National Chairman said the victory recorded by the party in 202 out of 203 wards spoke volume of the level of acceptability of APC in the state.

He stated that; “There was no underground support from any quarters. No external influence from the government, the Presidency or any other external forces. The election is not the efforts of the elite alone. It is not the efforts of the middle class alone, it is the efforts of also the grassroots alone.

“This must be an issue that was comprised by all. You enjoyed the support of the electorate in the state. We have to congratulate you on this victory. I know Ondo people are progressives which was why they will cooperate with you”.

Earlier, Ayedatiwa said he thought it fit to come and thank the party leadership for the support extended to him before, during and after the election.
