Inter have set their sights on Ademola Lookman, but their pursuit is being hindered by Atalanta's steep valuation. Despite the forward having two years remaining on his contract and "expecting a move to Inter," the Bergamo-based club is unwilling to lower its demands. The Nerazzurri remain eager to bring him in as part of Christian Chivu's squad this summer. Atalanta, on their part, view the Nigerian's potential transfer as pivotal to their own market strategy and aim to "capitalise on the interest in him."
Chivu sees Lookman as a key piece to reinforce his attack alongside captain Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thurman. The forward played a vital role in leading Atalanta to their Europa League triumph but reportedly had a "fallout with coach Gian Piero Gasperini," who has since taken over at Roma. Since arriving in 2022, the 27-year-old has proven to be a dynamic threat, equally capable of "marauding the flanks" or supporting the striker through the center. Chivu plans to leverage this versatility to elevate Inter's game.
While Arsenal have also registered interest in Lookman, Serie A champions Napoli are monitoring him closely too, preparing to reinvest funds from the expected sale of Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray.
With several clubs circling, Lookman remains patient, waiting to see "if any club is willing to match Atalanta's asking price for him."
