Local Government Councils have remained hopeless over the years in bringing development to the people, as state governors allegedly take over their allocations from the Federal Government. Afe Babalola, SAN, the founder of Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD, has charged the FG to ensure that LGs in the country receive their allocations directly from the federation account, so as to enable it to revive agriculture and boost the economy. 

The Nigeria Police Command, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has disagreed with the alarm raised by 14 residents of the FCT claiming their sexual organs are missing. The FCT Police Commissioner, Haruna Garba stated that the missing organ claims was false after medical examination was conducted on each of the acclaimed victims.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kebbi Command, has handed over a 22-year-old suspected victim of human trafficking to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The Comptroller of the NIS in the state, Mrs Rabi Bashir-Nuhu, made this known on Monday in Birnin Kebbi while addressing newsmen.

The Imo State Police Command announced it has arrested 3 personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and 2 from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly extorting and harassing residents of the state. This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, adding that a 37-year old police Inspector was also arrested for the same offence.

The acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has raised an alarm over the increase in the smuggling of goods and illicit drugs across borders. Speaking during an interactive session with officers and men of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B during a working visit to Kaduna State, the customs boss warned those engaged in such criminal behaviour to repent.
