The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, refused to grant bail to a top official of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, who is currently in prison custody. The court, in the ruling that was delivered by Justice Emeka Nwite, said it was not convinced that the defendant, who is facing a five-count money laundering and terrorism financing charge alongside the company, would be available to face his trial once he is released on bail.
The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, on Wednesday in Abuja arrested five persons for selling counterfeit cosmetics during an enforcement to curb substandard goods at the Garki and Wuse axis. Speaking with newsmen after the enforcement, Mr Embugushiki-Musa Godiya, NAFDAC Head of Investigation and Enforcement, Federal Taskforce, said that the arrested persons would be investigated.
Former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele has today pleaded not guilty to a four-count charge pressed against him by the Economic And Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, for printing N684 million notes using N18.96 billion. Emefiele was arraigned by the EFCC, before Justice Maryann Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Abuja, when he entered the plea.
Bandits invaded the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Osara in Kogi State around 9pm on Thursday night and abducted some students. According to eye witness accounts, the bandits went into 3 lecture halls and abducted students who were preparing for their first-semester examination scheduled to commence on Monday, May 13, 2024.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to a former Minister of Aviation Hadia Sirika, his daughter Fatima, and two others in the sum of N100m for each of the defendants. The court has also stipulated that the defendants, who are facing trial over an alleged ₦2.7 billion fraud must provide two sureties each, who must possess landed properties with valid titles in Abuja and be responsible citizens.
