Bandits invaded the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Osara in Kogi State around 9pm on Thursday night and abducted some students. According to eye witness accounts, the bandits went into 3 lecture halls and abducted students who were preparing for their first-semester examination scheduled to commence on Monday, May 13, 2024.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to a former Minister of Aviation Hadia Sirika, his daughter Fatima, and two others in the sum of N100m for each of the defendants. The court has also stipulated that the defendants, who are facing trial over an alleged ₦2.7 billion fraud must provide two sureties each, who must possess landed properties with valid titles in Abuja and be responsible citizens.
The Economic and financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on May 15 arraign former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele in a Federal Capital Territory court on a three-count amended charge. In the fresh charge filed against him, the EFCC alleged that Emefiele disobeyed the direction of law with intent to cause injury to the public during his implementation of the naira swap policy of the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), an interim order to freeze 1,146 bank accounts alleged offences bordering on unauthorized dealing in forex exchange, money laundering, and terrorism financing. The Judge, Justice Emeka Nwite ordered that the accounts belonging to individuals and companies being investigated for various allegations be frozen pending the conclusion of investigations.
Following the controversial payment of his children school fees with Kogi state money to An Abuja American School, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has acknowledged the receipt of refund of $760,000 from the school. The antigraft spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development today in Abuja that EFCC has received the money yesterday. Oyewale said, “The school has refunded the entire $ 760, 000 to the EFCC’s recovery account”.
