Some seasonal migrants have been burnt to death at Gidan Bawa village, Sabon Birno Local Govt Area in Sokoto state. The passengers were said to be on transit to Gadan Gayan in Kaduna state en-route to the southern part of the country in search of greener pasture. The commercial bus hired by the said passengers run into an ambush of terrorist bandits who opened fire on them, setting the bus on fire, killing all the passengers. The incident happened at Teke village in Gidan Bawa District around 10 am on Monday morning.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) unveiled the National Drug Control Master Plan (NDCMP) in Abuja on Monday. The Master Plan is a five-year plan from 2021-2025 aimed at tackling drug trafficking and abuse across the country and created in conjunction with the United Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. The NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retired) was represented by the NDLEA Secretary, Mr. Shadrach Haruna at the launch of NDCMP 2021-2025.

The Federal Government (FG) in collaboration with the Japanese government and United Nations Development Project (UNDP) on Monday launched virtual court programmes in Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) facilities nationwide. Speaking at the launch of the pilot programme at the Kuje Correctional Center, Abuja, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) said the programme would ensure quick dispensation of justice while also decongesting correctional facilities nationwide.

Former Vice president Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the controversial story surrounding the demise of a teenager, Sylvanus Oromoni who was allegedly assaulted at Dowen College that lead to his death. Sylvester died from internal injuries he sustained after some alleged cult members from the said school assaulted him.

Veteran Journalist under the banner of League of Veteran Journalists (LVI) in Oyo state has raised alarm over the pervasive effect of fake news in the country. Mr Banji Ogundele, the Chairman of the Association made this known while speaking at the Veterans Day programme organised by the Oyo state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) today. The programme was part of the activities the NUJ organised to mark the year 2021 Press Week.

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has been rearrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) over document falsification. Fani-Kayode is standing trial over allegations bordering on N4.6billion money laundering, alongside a former Minister for the state on Finance, Nenadi Usman. Part of the defendant in the case is also a former Chairman of the Association of the local government of Nigeria (ALGON), Yusuf Danjuma, and joint Trust Dimensions Nigeria Limited.
