The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF), representing the Northern youths have called on the South-East Governors to emplace measures in protecting Northerners living in South-Eastern communities against violence being perpetrated by the Unknown gunmen while enforcing Sit-At-Home. AYCF President, Yerima Shattima who made the call attributed the violent to disturbances created by certain interest groups in the South-East, in the form of the agitation for a separate State of Biafra.

A 21years old, Maimuna Suleiman, house wife has been arrested by the Nigerian police for hacking her husband Aliyu Mohammed, to death in Bauchi town, Bauchi state. The incident was confirmed by the police state command after the family members reported the matter to the police while the suspect has since been arrested by the police. The victim was pronounce dead on arrival after sustaining an open wound in the chest believed to have died after serious bleeding from the knife cut.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to DCP Abba Kyari on alleged money laundering. Kyari who was arrested February 14, 2022, after he was declared wanted by NDLEA over alleged drug links is also facing a primary charge of cocaine trafficking, for which he has been denied bail.

A Professor of Political Science and International Relations, Babafemi Badejo has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government will be worse than former President, Muhammadu Buhari- who was himself woeful in the area of tackling corruption in the country. Badejo stated this during his first inaugural lecture Titled: “Interest” at Chrisland University, Abeokuta in Ogun State. Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has launched an investigation against the former governor of Kano state Abdullahi Ganduje as his immunity as Governor has expired. Chairman of the commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado stated this yesterday during a press conference, while confirming that the state government has already arrested a state commissioner, Engr. Idriss Wada who facilitated the alleged bribery of N1billion fraud. Recall that in 2018, a video of the former Governor stuffing bills of Dollars in his Agbada went viral.

Unknown gunmen on Saturday stormed a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, killing the Pastor and abducting seven worshippers. The Ogun State So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the incident, saying his officers rescued the seven church members and killed one of the kidnappers during a rescue operation.
