In a bid to end the prevailing scarcity of Premium Motor Spririt (PMS) in the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) have intensifies raid on errant fuel stations across the country.  In a statement signed by Ndu Ughamadu, the Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, NNPC, both organizations assured that the situation would be addressed in the coming days. The statement reads in full;

The Kaduna State Police Command on Tuesday said it intercepted fake drugs worth N15 million in Zaria.  The Spokesperson of the Command, ASP Muktar Aliyu who disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna said the Police Area Command in Zaria had intercepted the fake drugs after a tip-off by some residents.

The Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed has reportedly approved the constitution of a task force comprising relevant security agencies and the Department of Petroleum Resources to address the lingering fuel scarcity in the state. Alhaji Isiaka Gold, Secretary to the State Government who made this known in a statement released to newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin said the situation had reached a worrisome level primarily because only a few stations were dispensing fuel.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Monday promised to ensure that justice was done in the killing of a corps member, Modupe Tawose.

Mr John Okpo, the Ogun NYSC Coordinator, gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased in Ibadan.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Tawose was raped and killed on December 9 in Ogun.

Tawose, 23, a 2017 Batch ‘A’ corps member serving with the Ogun State Ministry of Housing in Abeokuta was allegedly lured to her death by her driving instructor, Festus Udoh, 29.

Popular Nigerian night club owner Mr Akeem of Club Amber Karaoke and Lounge has been arrested by the Nigerian Police after human heads were discovered buried in front of his club. According to a Facebook user Victor Ufot, Akeem buried two children and a pig in front of the Night Club to attract customers.

As part of efforts toward decongesting detention facilities in Cross River State, the state's Chief Judge, Justice Michael Edem on Saturday freed one hundred and twenty two (122) inmates serving various jail terms in Afokang Prison located in the capital city. Speaking with newsmen after granting the inmates amnesty, Justice Edem said the reason for the release was to decongest the prison.
