President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that the government would no longer tolerate the attacks by suspected herdsmen and other bandits. Buhari who was on official visit to Nasarawa state, frowned at what he described as “unwarranted killing of innocent citizens’’. He said the government was working hard to instil peace and stability and enjoined Nigerians to resist the temptation of engaging in reprisals.

An FCT High Court in Jabi on Monday, commenced trial in the case of culpable homicide against Maryam Sanda, accused of killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello.

Some youths in Benue state on Wednesday killed seven persons in Gboko area. Suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber on Wednesday attacked an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Dalori, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria. The chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Satomi Ahmad, confirmed this to newsmen in Maiduguri. According to him, five persons – including the assailant – while 39 others sustained various degrees of injuries”.

A Vigilante group in Okpe Community of Delta state on Wednesday apprehended and disarmed eight Fulani herdsmen allegedly attempting to invade the town. A member of the group told Vigil360 that they acted on intelligence that the herdsmen were coming to invade the town. He disclosed that following the information, they laid ambush for the herdsmen before apprehending them.

Amnesty International (AI) on Monday accused the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) of killing dozens of villagers in airstrikes on some villages rocked by communal clashes. It also accused Nigerian security agencies of failing to promptly respond to crisis situation, application of excessive force and engaging in extrajudicial killings.
