The Nigerian Army has reacted to widespread claim by one Sergeant David Bako that the recent abduction and eventual release of the Dapchi schoolgirls was hatched on April 19th, 2018 at the State House. Recall that Bako had alleged that the abduction was stage-managed and executed with N80 million.
The Inspector General of Police, Ibriahim Idris has recanted an earlier statement that Boko Haram members were set to release Leah Sharibu, the only Christian Dapchi School girl still in captivity. The IGP in a statement issued by the Force PRO, Jimoh Moshood said he was misquoted. The statement read in part;

Residents of Takum and Ussa Local Government areas of Taraba state have raised alarm that marauding herdsmen carrying out attacks on them are now using machine guns to their people, despite ongoing military operation. Chairman of Ussa Local Government Council, Mr. Rimamsikwe Karma, who stated this on Friday while speaking to newsmen said the marauding herders are not the regular herdsmen they had known, revealing that this ones are strange.
Sen. Shehu Sani, Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District has condemned the killing of 12 Soldiers by unknown gunmen in the Kampanim Village, Doka area in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state. Senator Sani made his opinion known in a post on his Facebook page. While condoling with the families of the slain soldiers, he hinted that the issue had been raised on the floor of the Nigerian Senate.
